Duties:  Perform comprehensive physical exams.
Evaluate cardiovascular health and musculoskeletal fitness.
Determine an athlete's suitability for specific sports.

Rehabilitation and Recovery:

How to become a Sports Medicine Physician?

Class 11 and 12 : Choose the Science stream with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as core subjects.

Medical Entrance Exam (NEET): Qualify for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) or other relevant entrance exams for admission to medical colleges.

Bachelor's Degree (MBBS): Pursue a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from a recognized medical college or university. This typically takes 5.5 years, including a one-year internship.

Internship (After MBBS): Complete a one-year compulsory internship in a hospital to gain hands-on experience in various medical disciplines.

Postgraduate Degree (MD/MS): Choose a specialization in Orthopedics, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, or another relevant field for sports medicine. This postgraduate degree (MD or MS) typically takes 3 years to complete.

Residency and Training: Undergo residency training in the chosen specialty. This involves practical training, exposure to different cases, and gaining expertise in the chosen field.

Specialization in Sports Medicine (Optional):  Pursue additional training or fellowships specifically in sports medicine.
